Petrels bounce back in LaGrange with win

ATLANTA- Daniel Gardner scored to bring home a win for the Oglethorpe men's soccer team versus the LaGrange Panthers Wednesday night on the road.

The first half started out strong with aggressive shots by Nick Krull, Anthony Ruse and Christian Watson. This dominant tone was consistent throughout the first half with the Petrels outshooting the Panthers 11-3. The Panthers had a shot on goal in the 10th minute, but Sebastian Lewis' defensive pressure stopped them. Lewis finished the half with two saves.

Krull came out of the gates fast in the second half with a shot in the 48th minute. This offensive pressure continued until Gardner, assisted by Owen VanMarter on a corner kick, scored the first goal of the game in the 62nd minute to give the Petrels a boost. With momentum from Gardner's goal, the Petrels held the Panthers to two more shots, one saved by Jack Lowrie, allowing for the Petrels to secure the win.
