Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Story by Abby Wheeler

Oglethorpe snaps winning streak versus No. 2 Emory

ATLANTA—For 45 minutes, the Oglethorpe women's soccer team battled in a scoreless game against No. 2 Emory and despite a great defensive presence from Katherine Crim and the Stormy Petrel back line, Oglethorpe fell to the Eagles 3-0 on Tuesday.

The Eagles began the game with heavy offensive pressure with five shots within the first 20 minutes. However, Crim stepped in and kept the Eagles at bay, finishing the half with seven saves. The offense kicked up for the Petrels with a strong shot from Harlow Cregar in the 38th minute but could not advance the score.

The second half quick shots came from Emory when one scored in the 49th minute for the first goal of the game. Shortly after, the Petrels returned with offensive fire with a shot on goal, low right, by Myleigh Oglesby.

Crim tallied two back-to-back saves from heavy pressure from the Eagles, yet they did not back down when they scored a second goal in the 56th minute. The momentum kept with Emory as they scored for a third time in the 73rd minute to make the score 3-0. Despite several more saves in the second half, the Petrels could not pick up the win.
