DEMOREST, Ga.—Harlow Cregar scored season goal numbers three and four on the way to Oglethorpe's 2-0 win over Piedmont Friday night on the road. The victory improved the Stormy Petrels to 3-0, their strongest start through three games in a season since 2019.
Cregar and the Petrels got on the board in the 30th minute in what proved to be the only goal they needed, although the lead would double with another Cregar in the 87th minute to help secure the win.
Abigail Zerm started the play on the game winner with a pass to Cregar from the left side, connecting with the team's senior leading goal scorer for an open shot. Cregar took one touch then scored her third goal of the year in the top left corner past Piedmont goalkeeper Hannah Thompson.
The teams played the next 55-plus minutes in a 1-0 game until Cregar came up with an errant Piedmont pass near the top of the penalty area and launched another similar strike to the top right corner, her fourth of the year.
