ROME, Ga. - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels were iced out 92-75 by the Berry Vikings at this weekend's rematch.
Freshman Kam Stone led with 17 points and three steals, followed by Mason Kemp with 15 points. Jackson Kemp made 13 points and five rebounds while Carter Watkins added 11 points and five rebounds. Malachi Dooley had 11 points as well, with five steals.
Berry opened with a 3-pointer, answered with a jumper from J. Kemp. The Vikings quickly took a run for the lead and dominated most of the first period. The Petrels did find a 10-2 run at the end of the period, capped by a 3-pointer from Watkins, but still trailed 43-37.
Berry continued their reign in the second half, but the Petrels again managed a 9-2 run spearheaded by M. Kemp. Scoring was scarce in the last two minutes, with Dooley making Oglethorpe's final basket before the Vikings added a free throw and a layup.
Even though the Petrels beat the Vikings earlier this season, tonight's matchup ended in a 92-75 loss.

- The team went 16-for-21 on free throws.
- Stone went 2-for-3 on 3-pointers.
- The second Berry game was originally scheduled for later this season but was moved up due to the upcoming winter storm. The Petrels were originally making the trek to Rhodes and Millsaps this weekend, and those games have been moved to February 19 and February 21.
