ATLANTA - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels suffered another Southern Athletic Association loss, falling 84-66 to the Rhodes Lynx.
Jackson Kemp and Carter Watkins led with 15 points each, plus six rebounds from J. Kemp. Malachi Dooley recorded 11 points and five rebounds, while Mason Kemp made nine points and six rebounds.
Rhodes earned a four-point lead before J. Kemp fired off two 3-pointers. His second basket set the score at 6-6, which would be the only tie of the game. The Lynx then took off, nearly doubling what the Petrels were making. M. Kemp and Anderson Shepherd went on a 6-0 run at the end of the first half, but Oglethorpe still trailed by 14 at the buzzer.
J. Kemp hit another 3-pointer to start the second half, followed by a layup from Watkins. Rhodes continued to dominate, but the Petrels found another late rally. Shepherd, Cooper Colvin and James McGriff combined for a 6-0 run highlighted by Shepherd's dunk. However, this late burst was not enough and the Petrels fell 84-66.
