ATLANTA- The Oglethorpe women's golf team secured a top-three spot in the Southern Athletic Association preseason poll, announced by the league office on Wednesday. Fifty-one votes were cast to Oglethorpe and Southwestern, putting them tied for the No. 3 slot. The poll was voted upon by the league's nine head coaches.

The projected leader is Trinity University, tallying 69 votes. Sewanee followed behind with 66 votes. This is the first high ranking for the Petrels since the 2023 spring season.

The Petrels will open their slate of spring play on Monday, March 9, at the Savannah Harbor Invitational in Savannah, Georgia, hosted by Berry College.
