ATLANTA - Oglethorpe University and Director of Athletics Todd Brooks are pleased to announce the Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2026.
The five new honorees will be inducted during a ceremony on Friday, April 17, as part of 2026 Alumni Weekend. In addition, Oglethorpe will recognize Eckhardt Van der Linde, a 2018 inductee who was unable to attend during his induction year. Each athlete and their accomplishments are listed below.Â
CJ Antonio | 2016, Tennis
- Graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in communications.
- Only player in Oglethorpe tennis history to qualify individually for the NCAA Championships, and did so twice (2015, 2016).
- Holds the career record for most doubles wins (61) and ranks No. 4 all-time in singles wins (57) (stats dating to 2003-04).
- Holds the Oglethorpe records for most wins at No. 1 singles (43) and most doubles wins at No. 1 doubles (46).
- Made the 2015-16 ITA All-America Team.
- Named Southern Athletic Association Player of the Year for 2015-16.
- Made the All-Conference first team all four years of his career (2013-2016).
- Six-time SAA player of the week.
- D3Tennis.com national player of the week.
- Currently serves as director of racquet sports at Bocaire Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
Josh Burr | 2006, Basketball
- Graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
- Holds one of the highest career total points (1,323) and all-time scoring average.
- Holds the Oglethorpe records for 3-pointers in a single season and career. He held the single game record from 2004-2024.
- Holds one of the highest career free-throws made and free-throw percentages.
- Ranks fourth all-time in freshman scoring (306 points in 2002-03 season).
- One of the team's scoring leaders all four seasons.
- 2004 All-SCAC Honorable Mention and SCAC All-Academic.
- Currently has extensive experience in local sports and serves as executive director for Northside Youth Organization.
Katy Galli | 2015, Track & Field
- Two-time NCAA qualifier in the triple jump (2014, 2015).
- Oglethorpe record holder for three events: indoor 55 meter hurdles, outdoor 100 meter dash, and outdoor triple jump.
- Nine-time all-conference team member:
- First team: 100 meter hurdles (2014)
- Second team: 100 meter hurdles (2012, 2015), 4x100 (2015), triple jump (2014, 2015)
- Third team: 100 meter hurdles (2013), triple jump (2012, 2013)
- Three-time conference athlete of the week.
- Four-time academic all-conference.
Hayden Jones | 2014, Golf
- Made three NCAA Championship appearances, finishing as high as runner-up in the program's 2012 NCAA title season.Â
- Finished T19th at the 2014 NCAA Championships.
- His even par 288 at the 2012 NCAA Championships ranks No. 5 all-time at Oglethorpe for an NCAA Championship 72-hole score.
- Three-time All-American (First Team in 2012, Third Team in 2013, and Second Team in 2014).
- Two-time PING All-Region Team (2012-13 and 2013-14).
- Three-time All-Conference First Team (2012,2013, 2014).
- Two-time SCAC player of the week.
- Finished in the top four three times at the conference championships (T2 in 2012, 3rd in 2013, and T4th in 2014).
- Played a part in 13 team tournament victories over his career, including the 2012 NCAA Championship.
- Continued to compete after graduation in the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) including the amateur championship. He has also worked in course maintenance and groundskeeping.
Vaughn Moore | 2016, Soccer
- Graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in international studies with a double minor in economics and Spanish.
- Holds the Oglethorpe career record for goal-against average (1.06).
- His 2015 season of 12 goals in 1417 minutes ranks second all-time for a single season.
- Set the Oglethorpe career record for shutouts with 12, although that record was later broken in 2023. Currently ranks No. 2 all-time for career shutouts.
- Ranks No. 4 all-time for shutouts in a single season with five in 2015.
- SAA defensive player of the year in 2015.
- SAA first team in 2013 and 2015, honorable mention in 2014.
- Two-time conference player of the week.
- Served as team captain his junior and senior seasons.
- Served in active duty in the US Army from 2017 to 2022 as an Infantryman assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.
- Currently in school at the Army Medical Readiness Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, for a Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Eckhardt Van der Linde | 2008, Tennis
- Graduated with a bachelor's in psychology after transferring to Oglethorpe ahead of his junior season.
- Holds the program records for best singles and doubles percentage in both a career and a single season.Â
- Has one of the highest number of singles wins in program history with a career record of 35-3.Â
- 34 of his wins were in No.1 and he holds the program's third highest total wins for the position.
- He and Drew Malone '07 are the program's most successful doubles team with a 29-6 record.
- Two-time All-SCAC first team (2006 and 2007).
- Currently serves as director of VDL Tennis, Chairperson and Coach of Lowveld Junior, and Manager of Mpumalanga U/19 in South Africa.Â
- He has also served as a middle school English teacher in his hometown of Mbombela.
