Top-10 finish for No. 7 men’s golf in North Carolina

PINEHURST, N.C.- The No. 7 Oglethorpe men's golf team secured a top-10 finish this week at the Tiger Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina. It marked the second straight top-10 finish to start the spring for the Stormy Petrels in another nationally elite field. Hampden-Sydney hosted the 54-hole event at Forest Creek Golf Club.

Jackson Hiller finished in the number 12 spot. He shot even on his first round with three birdies and three bogeys. His second round ended 1 over par and moved him up 13 spots with the highest individual finish for Oglethorpe.

Ryan Dunn tied for 47 and finished 7 over par. Corbin Scott (T62) and Barton Abstein (T69) rounded out the Petrel scoring.

As a team, Oglethorpe finished tied for 10th with Christopher Newport and moved up five places after the second round.

Up next, Oglethorpe hosts the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational Friday-Sunday, March 20-22, in Jekyll Island, Georgia. The team will then break until April 10-12 where they will compete in the Camp Lejeune Marine Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
