ROME, Ga. – The Oglethorpe men's lacrosse team opened Southern Athletic Association play with a 20–2 loss against Berry College Wednesday evening.
On the offensive side, Noah Stroud led the Petrels with two goals, accounting for both of Oglethorpe's scores. Aniedo Udoh and Alexander Martelo Reyes each recorded an assist, helping spark the Petrels' offense.
In goal, Wyatt Desaussure and Ian Wood combined for an impressive 30 saves, with Desaussure recording 17 and Wood adding 13 in relief. Defensively, Oglethorpe remained active under pressure, with players like Charles Caskey, TJ Lewis and Jerald Spoto contributing ground balls and key possessions.
Oglethorpe showed resilience throughout the contest, breaking through in the third quarter as Stroud found the back of the net twice, including goals assisted by Udoh and Martelo Reyes. The Petrels continued to compete through the final whistle, generating chances and maintaining effort on both ends of the field.
