ATLANTA - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels beat the Brevard Tornados 22-1 at home on Saturday, marking two 20-point wins in a row.
Ellis Mitchum and Anna Ramsden led with six goals each. Mitchum added five ground balls and won seven draw controls, while Ramsden added two assists and three ground balls. Adesewa Atiba scored three goals and had four ground balls. Anna Conza made a career high of five assists, had four ground balls, and won four draw controls. Jersey Cuni and Savannah Freeman made three assists each.
Conza scored the first goal hardly 30 seconds into the game, soon followed by Cuni. Later, Ramsden scored three times in a row. Sarah Liang brought the Petrels to a 6-0 lead before Brevard made their only goal near the end of the first period.
Ramsden scored once more before the end of the quarter. Mitchum scored twice at the top of the second quarter, then Ramsden got Oglethorpe into double digits. Mitchum scored two more goals before halftime.Â
The Petrels continued to dominate throughout the third and fourth quarters, ending with a goal by Atiba for the 22-1 win.
