12 saves for Sebastian Lewis bring victory for men’s soccer

ATLANTA- The Oglethorpe men's soccer team shut out Montclair State 1-0 Friday night at home.

Nick Krull scored a late goal to secure the victory for the Petrels. Sebastian Lewis tallied a career high of 12 saves and faced 25 total shots.

The first half began with Montclair State taking swift control of possession. Lewis made four consecutive saves that kept the Red Hawks at bay.

Lewis picked up a save early in the second half. Oglethorpe worked to end the back-and-forth possession control and drove the ball to the Montclair State goal. A short pass from Nathan Leveque found Krull at the top of the box. He took a shot that finished in the top corner of the net and put the Petrels on the board 1-0 in the 70th minute.

Leveque quickly followed with his own shot yet missed out top. Lewis and the Petrels' defense continued to shut out the Red Hawk offense as they took 18 shots in the second half to try and equalize the score but ran out of time and the Petrels secured their third win of the season.
