ATLANTA—Goalkeeper Sebastian Lewis had another great game with five saves, but a second-half penalty kick sent the Oglethorpe men's soccer team to a 1-0 defeat against Covenant Thursday night at home. It marked just the second loss of the season for the Stormy Petrels and broke a five-game unbeaten streak.
Lewis once again came up big with a handful of saves, including several with the game knotted in a scoreless draw. It was not until a foul in the box sent the visiting Scots to the penalty spot in the 58th minute, where Covenant's Carter Weekley broke the tie with what would be the game winner.
Oglethorpe battled from whistle to whistle and created numerous chances of its own, resulting in seven shots and four of those on goal. Six of those seven came in the second half. Nathan Leveque provided a spark off the bench as he took three shots including one great look in the second half from close range that was blocked. Gustavo Canas also had a shot on goal, as did Luca Orsi in the first half.

- It was as even of a game as it gets in the first half, with Oglethorpe and Covenant even on shots, corner kicks and saves.
- Covenant pulled ahead in some of those categories in the second half to finish with eight shots to Oglethorpe's seven and seven corner kicks to Oglethorpe's five.
- Oglethorpe moved to 4-2-2 on the season and 4-4-2 in the all-time series with Covenant, dating back to 2011.
