ATLANTA—After a successful week at the NCAA Championships Preview earlier this week in Williamsburg, Virginia, the Oglethorpe men's golf team climbed two spots and re-entered the national top 10 at No. 10 overall. The Bushnell/Golfweek DIII Coaches' Poll was released Friday.
The Stormy Petrels previously ranked No. 12 and moved up two spots thanks to an eighth-place finish at the national preview. Senior Jackson Hiller, who went on to win Southern Athletic Association athlete of the week honors, led Oglethorpe at the event, taking 12th with scores of 69-72-69. Freshman Reid Korody followed next for Oglethorpe in the top 30 with rounds of 70-68-73.
No strangers to the top 10, the Petrels were last inside the top 10 back in May during the 2026 NCAA Championships. This followed a No. 3 national ranking last fall when the team took third at last year's national preview.
Oglethorpe's season continues Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 5-6, in Douglasville, Georgia, with the West Pines Collegiate, the Petrels' home event at West Pines Golf Club. Three more events are on the fall schedule after West Pines.
