The Oglethorpe University baseball team lost to Huntingdon
College in Montgomery, Alabama on Tuesday night, 10-2. The Hawks
broke open a tight game with 6 runs in the bottom of the eighth to
earn the win over the Petrels.
The Oglethorpe offense was stymied by four Huntingdon pitchers
that combined to hold the Petrels to only four hits on the evening.
Senior Stephen Archer provided the lone offensive spark for the
Diamond Petrels in connecting for his sixth homerun of the season.
Sam Briend took the loss for the Petrels who now stand at 19-16
on the season. Oglethorpe will look to complete a season sweep of
Emory tonight on Anderson Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00
p.m.
