CONYERS, Ga.— The No.13 Oglethorpe men's golf team earned a T4 finish at the Emory Spring Invitational. This was a 54-hole event at Cherokee Run Golf Club, and the last regular season event for the Stormy Petrels.
Beck Lewis and Tripp Murphy played the three rounds 8 over par to finish T15 as individuals. Isley McClure was close behind at 9 over par, which earned him T19. McClure's final round 73 featured a 3 under par back nine. Connor Murphy contributed a final round 75 to the team score and finished the tournament inside the top 30 as an individual at T28.
Oglethorpe led the field in the number of pars with a total of 167 for the tournament. Lewis led the field in par five scoring at 5 under par. Murphy was second in par three scoring for the tournament at 1 under par.
Up next, Oglethorpe will host the Southern Athletic Association Championship on April 22-24. The tournament will be a 54-hole event at the Chateau Elan Legends Course in Braselton, Georgia. This will give the Stormy Petrels an opportunity to advance to the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship.
