ROME, Ga.—The team's best finish of the fall season came Tuesday afternoon as the Oglethorpe women's golf team wrapped up the first half of the 2025-26 campaign with a fourth-place finish at the Chick-fil-A Invitational.
Freshman Dounia Bezzari led the Stormy Petrels with her highest finish of the fall, also landing fourth overall after moving up two spots from day one to day two. She fired 77-74 for her second straight top-five finish and third straight top-seven finish. At 5 over par for the tournament, Bezzari was only three strokes off medalist honors.
Elizabeth Powell (T20), McKazlyn Payne (22nd) and Katie Sulko (T23) finished in a cluster inside the top 25, and Macie Stefano led the Oglethorpe B team with an 11th-place finish, shooting 78-77. Powell and Payne both posted solid rounds on day two with scores of 75 and 78, respectively.
As a team, Oglethorpe claimed fourth in the 15-team field, just four strokes out of third place and 13 strokes ahead of fifth place. Oglethorpe's B team took seventh overall, led by Stefano and Abrianna Carstens, who was one spot out of the top 30 at 31st overall.
Tournament Notes
- Alexis Sinutko led the field in par 3 scoring at 1 under par. Stefano was third overall in that category at even par.
- Bezzari finished second at 1 over on par 4 scoring. Stefano was sixth.
- Payne and Bezzari were fifth with five birdies.
- Oglethorpe finished third in par 4 scoring and fifth in par 5 scoring.
- The Petrels were fourth overall with 13 birdies and third overall with 96 pars.

With the fall leg of the 2025-26 season complete, Oglethorpe will break for the winter before returning to action in the spring. The first date on the spring calendar is the Savannah Harbor Invitational Monday-Tuesday, March 9-10.
