ATLANTA- The Oglethorpe men's golf team was voted No. 2 overall in the Southern Athletic Association preseason poll, announced the SAA Thursday afternoon.

The Petrels earned 51 votes from the SAA's eight head coaches. Oglethorpe was ranked No. 6 in NCAA Division III going into the fall season and finished ranked No. 10.

Sewanee is the projected leader, recording 54 votes. Southwestern falls below Oglethorpe with 42 votes.

Oglethorpe will travel to Savannah, Georgia, where they will open their section of spring tournaments on Monday, March 9, at the Savannah Harbor Invitational, hosted by Berry College.
