The Oglethorpe University men's and women's soccer teams were
swept by nationally acclaimed Trinity University on Salamone Field
on Friday night. The men fell to the Tigers by the score of 3-0
while the women were downed 8-0.
The two Trinity squads stepped on to Salamone Field today with a
combined 23-1-2 record and their play on the pitch certainly
supported the sparkling record.
The men's team was able to stay with the Tigers for a half, keeping
it knotted 0-0, but Trinity broke through with three second half
goals to earn the win. With the result, the Stormy Petrel men are
now 6-9-2 on the season.
The women's team was overmatched by the Tigers and outshot on the
afternoon 17-1 before falling by the final score of 8-0. For the
season, the women hold a 5-9 overall record.
Both teams are back in action this Sunday afternoon when they
square of with Southwestern. The men play at 12:00 p.m. followed by
the women at 2:00 p.m.
