Lady Netters Fall to Kalamazoo

The Oglethorpe University women's tennis team lost to Kalamazoo in Orlando, Florida today, 7-2. The Stormy Petrels will try to win their first spring break match later today against Luther.

Kalamazoo took two of the three doubles matches to build a lead that Oglethorpe could not surpass. Alison Burt and Jayme Danielson (8-0) were blanked from the number one doubles position and Sarah Beth Britt and Molly Colvard (8-4) went down at the number two spot. The duo of LaDonna Barnes and Kayla Atkins (9-7) managed to salvage a doubles point for the Petrels from the number three slot.

In the singles matches, only No. 6 Kimberly O'Dell (7-6, 6-2) was able to break through against Kalamazoo as No. 1 Danielson (6-0, 6-3), No. 2 Britt (7-5, 6-4), No. 3 Colvard (6-2, 6-2), No. 4 Burt (7-6, 6-2) and No. 5 Sarah Duff (6-2, 6-2) all fell in their matches.

Oglethorpe is now 4-7 on the season and will get set to face Luther in Orlando later this afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
