The Oglethorpe University women's tennis team lost to Huntingdon
College in Montgomery, Alabama on Friday afternoon, 7-2. The
regionally ranked Hawks had to fight off a spirited Petrels effor
to claim the win.
Oglethorpe managed to win one of the three doubles matches
with Molly Colvard and Sarah Beth Britt topping their Huntingdon
opponents in the number two doubles match, 8-5. Senior Alison
Burt scored the Petrels other point by winning at number four,
6-4, 6-4. Colvard fought valiantly at the number three slot
before falling, 1-6, 6-3, 10-5.
Oglethorpe is now 2-4 on the season and will have a rematch with
the Hawks next Friday at 1:00 p.m. on Downing Howell Courts.
