The men's tennis team got their 2011 spring season underway on Saturday afternoon, falling to the 4th ranked Eagles of Emory in Decatur, 8-1.

Featuring a lineup loaded with highly ranked players the Eagles took two of the three doubles matches before sweeping the singles action. Playing together from the number two doubles position, Felix Mann and Bryan Bailey teamed up to earn Oglethorpe's lone point by gutting out a 9-8 (7-4) victory in a tiebreak.

In singles action, Mann (6-0, 6-1), Ross Beall (6-1, 6-2), Ethan Motz (6-3, 6-1), Bailey (7-5, 6-3), Sandy Christoffersen (6-0, 6-0) and Jeremiah Farmer (6-1, 6-2) all went down to their Emory opponents. Complete results included below.
