The men's tennis team grabbed their third win in three days on Friday afternoon in Rome, Ga. by topping Berry College, 7-2. The Petrels have now rattled off five straight victories heading into their showdown with regionally ranked Christopher Newport this Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

Playing the singles matches first, Oglethorpe got straight sets wins from No. 1 Felix Mann, No. 2 Ethan Motz, No. 3 Alex Biffle and No. 4 Bryan Bailey. Sandy Christoffersen lost a heartbreaker at No. 5, 7-6 (4), 7-5 but Tim Tanko rallied for victory at No. 6 to give Oglethorpe 5 of the 6 singles points to clinch the victory.

The Petrels also took two of three doubles matches to sew up the road win. The No. 1 duo of Motz-Christoffersen went down 8-1 but Oglethorpe got wins from No.'s 2 and 3 with Mann-Bailey and Biffle-Dinakaran combining to win 8-2 and 8-6, respectively. Oglethorpe is now 5-1 on the season and will lace them up to face highly regarded Christopher Newport on Sunday on Downing Howell Courts at 10:00 a.m.
