The women's tennis team faced tough competition this past weekend in squaring off with four rival SCAC schools. After dropping the first three contests, the Petrels finished off the slate with an 8-1 win over Hendrix on Sunday afternoon.
The Petrels controlled the doubles action by securing all three points with the toughest battle coming at No. 3 where LaDonna Barnes and Sarah Duff teamed up to win 9-8 (3).
In singles play, Jayme Danuelson shrugged off a first set whitewashing to earn a win (0-6, 6-4, 10-6) and Caffrey Francis improved to 15-0 on the season with yet another victory (6-1, 6-1). Complete Hendrix results are included below.
The Lady Netters are now 7-11 on the season and have two remaining matches at Agnes Scott (April 15) and versus Columbia (April 16) before closing the campaign at the 2011 SCAC Tennis Championships.
