The women's tennis team fell to Agnes Scott 8-1 on Downing Howell Courts on Thursday evening. Playing without the services of No. 1 singles participant Jayme Danielson, the Petrels could not overcome the Scotties.
The Petrels battled hard at No.'s 2 and 3 singles but were bested by their Scottie couterparts 8-5 and 8-6, respectively to give Agnes Scott all three doubles points.
Caffrey Francis claimed the Petrels lone points of the match by winning a thriller from the No. 1 singles position. She topped Mariel Herrera 7-6 (6), 3-6, 1-0 (11-9) in a grueling match that ended with a double fault from Herrera. Complete match results included below.
The Lady Netters will travel to Sewanee for weekend matches against the Tigers and Transylvania on Saturday, March 3.
