Women's Tennis Falls at Rhodes, 7-2

The Oglethorpe women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss Sunday at Rhodes. The loss means the team finishes the regular season 3-15, 1-6 in SAA play.

The home-standing Lynx took two of the three doubles matches, putting the Lady Petrels in a tough spot early. The lone Oglethorpe doubles win came from Kate Siess and Tricia Groover at the No. 3 spot.

Up 2-1 entering singles, Rhodes made quick work of the dual match. They easily won the Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 matches to secure victory.

The lone Oglethorpe singles win came from Siess in the No. 5 slot. She won a three-set match 6-2, 2-6, 10-5 to secure a 4-0 record on the weekend, as she won both her doubles and singles matches against Hendrix and Rhodes.

The Lady Petrels will now take a week off to prepare for the SAA Championships in Murfreesboro, Tenn., starting April 26. The team will be the No. 7 seed in the tournament, and will take on No. 2 seed Berry in the quarterfinals.
