The Oglethorpe women's tennis team picked up a resounding 9-0 victory over visiting Hendrix Friday on the Howell Courts. The Stormy Petrels dominated all facets of play in the victory.
Singles play went just as well for the Petrels, as all six players won in straight sets. The Petrels only dropped a total of 11 games combined in singles play. Johnson won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, while Dattilo picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2. Cruz was victorious at 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, and Cranford breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4. At No. 5, freshman
Lisette Phillips won 6-4, 6-1, and Bielicki rounded out the scoring with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6.

Peter Howell commented after the match, "The girls kept focus and played well. Hopefully we can carry this forward to tomorrow's match with Rhodes."
With the win, the Petrels improved their record to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in SAA play. They will host Rhodes Saturday morning at 10 a.m. from the Howell Courts.
