The Oglethorpe women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Rhodes Sunday morning at the Howell Courts. The defeat dropped the team to 1-4 on the season.
The Stormy Petrels proved competitive in two of the three doubles matches against the Lynx. However, senior Lisette Phillips and sophomore Sydney Dattilo fell 8-6 on the No. 2 line and sophomores Kendall Kramer and Alyssa Merletti dropped the No. 1 match 8-4.
Entering singles play down 3-0, the Petrels found themselves behind the eight-ball. Dattilo took her No. 5 match to a third set, winning a second-set tiebreaker. She eventually fell 10-5 in a third-set super-tiebreaker, though.
The Petrels will be back in action Saturday, when they get back to conference play and head to Conway, Arkansas, to take on Hendrix at 11 a.m. Eastern.
