The Oglethorpe women's tennis team fell 9-0 to the visiting Millsaps Majors Saturday at the Howell Courts. The defeat dropped the Stormy Petrels to 3-8 on the season overall and 1-5 in SAA play.

The visiting Majors took all three doubles matches, though sophomores Kendall Kramer and Sydney Dattilo hung tough with an 8-4 defeat in the No. 2 match. Down 3-0 headed to the singles competition, the Petrels found themselves falling to defeat quickly as senior Lisette Phillips dropped her top-line match 6-0, 6-0 and Kramer fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2. Sophomore Alyssa Merletti fell competitive in the first set but fell 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 4 match.

The Petrels will close their regular season Sunday morning at 10 a.m. when they take on the the Majors in a non-conference contest. They'll celebrate the careers of seniors Lisette Phillips and Brooke Dotson in Senior Day festivities prior to the match.
