The Oglethorpe women's tennis team fell 7-2 in a non-conference match to the Birmingham-Southern Panthers Saturday. It marked the second straight day where the Petrels lost by that scoreline.
The Petrels lost all three doubles matches, with senior Lisette Phillips and sophomore Sydney Dattilo keeping it tight with an 8-6 loss in the No. 1 match. Phillips won her No. 2 match 6-4, 6-2 on the singles side and freshman Katie Hunter followed suit with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6. Birmingham-Southern took the other four singles matches, though, securing the five-point win.
Oglethorpe will return to action the weekend of April 17 and 18, when they host Millsaps on the Howell Courts.
