Makenna Bowens combined for 15 goals to lead Oglethorpe past Brenau Saturday in a 20-2 victory.
The Stormy Petrels scored early and often in this one, as Trammell put them on the board twice in the first 90 seconds and five others scored in the first period. Oglethorpe was well on its way to a win after the first 15 minutes with the score 7-0.
Five Petrels again were part of the scoring in the second period as they doubled the lead by halftime, then
Taty Harris and
Amanda Cason each scored in the second half while Oglethorpe's defense kept the Tigers scoreless over the last 41 minutes of play.
Oglethorpe took 38 shots, went 18-for-21 on clear attempts, forced 37 turnovers and won for the fourth straight time to start the season.
The Petrels have one more nonconference match, at NCAA Division II Converse on Saturday, Feb. 26, before heading into the Southern Athletic Association season. That will start with Hendrix at home on Saturday, March 5, at 12 p.m.
