ATLANTA –Director of Athletics Todd Brooks has announced the hiring of Christian Hall as Oglethorpe's new men's lacrosse head coach.
Hall is an experienced collegiate player and coach, earning several conference titles and NCAA appearances in both positions. Across his career, Hall has garnered four conference championship titles, three NCAA appearances, and multiple honors for his players.
"I am excited that Coach Hall has agreed to be our next head men's lacrosse coach," Brooks said. "Coach Hall has a proven record of success, both as a player and as a coach. I was also very impressed and encouraged by his vision of what our men's lacrosse program can look like and can ultimately achieve. Along with building a winning culture, he understands the importance of embracing a holistic approach as it applies to establishing a long-standing, successful program."
Hall comes to Oglethorpe from his alma mater, NCAA Division II Wingate University, where he served the Bulldogs as an assistant defensive coach for the past year. This was Hall's second stint with Wingate, previously serving as a volunteer assistant coach from 2018 to 2020. During that time, he also earned his MBA from Wingate.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank President Dr. Kathryn McClymond, Director of Athletics Todd Brooks and the entire Oglethorpe community for this amazing opportunity and their belief in me to lead this program," Hall said. "I have had immense guidance and support over my career from Jason Rostan, Tim Boyle and Steve Beville. All three men have led and continue to lead exceptional programs that develop great young men. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to learn, grow and mature while working alongside them over the years. None of this would be possible without their mentorship."
Hall also served as an assistant coach at Hampden-Sydney College from 2022 to 2023, and at SUNY Cortland from 2020 to 2021. He helped the latter earn the 2021 SUNY coaching staff of the year award, a conference title, an NCAA round of 16 appearance, five all-America players, and five all-conference players. Hall also helped build SUNY's social media presence and alumni involvement.
In between the two coaching positions, Hall was a Secret Service Officer at the White House for one year.
"Lauren and I are beyond excited to begin this new journey and be a part of an exceptional University," Hall continued. "Our staff will do everything in our power to develop our young men on and off the field to make our university and alumni proud to be associated with our program."
Hall originally hails from Darlington, Maryland. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management from Wingate in 2018 and a Master of Business Administration from Wingate in 2020. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.
