ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association has released this fall's preseason men's soccer poll, with Oglethorpe claiming the top spot. 

The Stormy Petrels received six votes for first place and 36 points overall. No. 2 Rhodes followed with 30 points and one first place vote.

Last season, the Petrels went 14-3-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play, with the one loss at the hands of Rhodes earlier in the season on the road. That loss was later avenged as Oglethorpe nabbed the SAA title and entry to the NCAA tournament with a dominating 3-0 victory in the SAA championship game.

The Stormy Petrels will begin their highly anticipated 2024 season on Sunday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. in a neutral match against Belhaven, hosted by Emory.
