ATLANTA—After her highest finish of the fall season, standout Oglethorpe freshman Dounia Bezzari has been awarded the title of Southern Athletic Association women's golf athlete of the week.

Despite unpleasant weather in Rome, Georgia, at the Chick-fil-A Invitational, Bezzari led the Stormy Petrels to a fourth-place finish. She climbed to fourth individually after moving up two spots from day one to day two.

Bezzari shot an impressive 77-74 and tallied her second straight top-five finish and her third straight top-seven finish. She was also only three strokes away from receiving medalist honors as she finished 5 over par. Bezzari also posted five birdies, and her consistency and talent have propelled her to her second SAA honor of the season.

Bezzari and the Stormy Petrels have completed their slate of tournaments for the fall and will take a recovery break until the spring. They tee off in mid spring at the Savannah Harbor Invitational Monday-Tuesday, March 9-10, 2026.
