BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels returned to Birmingham on Saturday for the Samford Invitational as the season is picking up momentum, posting strong finishes and multiple personal bests against a competitive field.
Men's Highlights
- Zeno Goss led the Stormy Petrels with a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run.
- Jordan McQueen recorded a top-12 finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.92 meters and added a top-15 showing in the long jump at 6.37 meters.
- Charlie Monroe placed inside the top 20 in the triple jump with a leap of 11.39 meters.
- Philmon Laudat posted a personal record of 23.13 in the 200 meters, while Joshua Barfield added a PR in the 60-meter dash with a time of 9.12 seconds.
Women's Highlights
- Kirsten Rose placed eighth in the 800-meter run, setting a personal record of 2:24.10.
- Hannah Rhodes finished ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:26.15.
- Mia Harris recorded a personal best of 8.23 meters in the shot put.
- Keri Edwards placed inside the top 15 in the triple jump with a mark of 10.56 meters.
