ATLANTA, Ga.— The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels returned to Emory University on Friday for the Emory Thrills in the Hills, adding to last weekend's success with several more strong finishes in a competitive field.
Men's Highlights
- Zeno Goss delivered an impressive performance in the 800-meter run, placing third overall with an Oglethorpe record time of 1:53.31. It marked the top time in the Southern Athletic Association and 13th best time in the NCAA.
- Noah Harmon also notched a personal best in the 800 meters at 1:57.81.
- Philmon Laudat led the Stormy Petrels with a second-place finish in the 100-meter, recording a personal best time of 11.04.
- Kaden Cooke cleared 1.78 meters in the high jump, while AJ Bonds added a personal record in the triple jump with a leap of 39' 5".
Women's Highlights
- Evan Thomas led the women's side with a win in the 100-meter dash, posting a personal best time of 12.59.
- Keri Edwards, fresh off earning all-America status during indoor season, secured a third-place finish in the triple jump with a personal record mark of 11.77 meters. Malia Melton followed with a seventh-place finish at 11.20 meters.
- Loni Gipson placed ninth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.48 meters.
- Kirsten Rose added to the team's strong showing with a personal best time of 2:22.96 in the 800 meters.
