DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.— The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels continued their outdoor season Friday at the Embry-Riddle Classic, posting strong finishes, multiple personal bests, and several school records against a competitive field.
Men's Highlights
- Zachary Benner led the Stormy Petrels in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:02.89.
- Jordan McQueen delivered a standout performance, setting new school records in both the long jump and triple jump with marks of 7.12 meters and 14.33 meters. Both marks rank in the top 15 in the NCAA.
- Kaden Cooke recorded a personal best in the high jump with a clearance of 1.85 meters.
- The 4x400-meter relay team of Philmon Laudat, Noah Harmon, Jordan McQueen, and Zeno Goss set a new school record with a time of 3:20.49.
- The 4x100-meter relay team consisting of Mason O'Shields, Philmon Laudat, Jordan McQueen, and Anthony Bonds also broke the school record, finishing in 42.84 seconds.
- Philmon Laudat added an individual personal record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.03, while Mason O'Shields posted a PR of 11.57 in the 100-meter dash.
Women's Highlights
- Kirsten Rose led the women's squad with an exceptional showing, setting school records in both the 800-meter run (2:18.43) and the 1,500-meter run (4:51.00).
- Evan Thomas recorded a new school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.28.
- Kirsten Wright posted a personal best in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.34.
- Mari-Rosa Colon notched a PR in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.22, while Allyssa Hearn followed with a personal best of 2:33.36 in the same event.
