Strong campaign continues for Petrels at Embry-Riddle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.— The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels continued their outdoor season Friday at the Embry-Riddle Classic, posting strong finishes, multiple personal bests, and several school records against a competitive field.

Women's Highlights

  • Kirsten Rose led the women's squad with an exceptional showing, setting school records in both the 800-meter run (2:18.43) and the 1,500-meter run (4:51.00).
  • Evan Thomas recorded a new school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.28.
  • Kirsten Wright posted a personal best in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.34.
  • Mari-Rosa Colon notched a PR in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.22, while Allyssa Hearn followed with a personal best of 2:33.36 in the same event.

Up Next

The Stormy Petrels will travel to Rome, Georgia, for the Berry Field Day Invitational on April 9.
