Box Score The women's soccer team began their season in style by topping
Agnes Scott on Salamone Field today, 3-0.
The Petrels got the scoring going early when freshman Clara St.
Urbain raced past a slew of Scottie defenders and beat their keeper
in the game's 10th minute. Oglethorpe took a 2-0 lead into halftime
after junior Alexandria Vassell scored on a free kick from 20 yards
out in the 30th minute.
Sophomore sensation Courtney Phillips added her name to the
scoresheet when she connected on a rebound off the Scotties keeeper
for the third Petrel strike of the game, this one coming in the
54th minute. From there, Oglethorpe held their ground to earn the
season opening win.
The Petrels dominated possession throughout and outshot the
Scotties 15-5 en route to the victory. Oglethorpe's women are back
in action this Friday at 2:00 p.m. when they host Trevecca Nazarene
on Salamone Field
