Women's Soccer Drops Road Game to Millsaps, 1-0

The Oglethorpe women's soccer team lost a hard-fought defensive struggle Friday night in Jackson, Miss., 1-0 to Millsaps.

The Lady Petrels were unable to get much going offensively throughout the game. They managed only five shots over the course of the game, two of which were on target.

Millsaps scored the game's only goal in the 26th minute and the home-standing Majors were able to hold Oglethorpe off for the remainder of the game.

A bright spot for the Lady Petrels was freshman goalkeeper Bailey Evans, who continued her excellent play since taking over for the injured Sarah Craig. She saved eight of the nine shots on goal that she faced in the game.

Millsaps outshot Oglethorpe 18-5 overall, 9-2 in shots on goal.

The loss drops the Lady Petrels to 4-8 on the season, 1-4 in SAA play.
