The 70th-minute goal was Stauber's third of the season and came off an assist by junior forward Jasmine Jakes. Leading up to the eventual tally, the Petrels outplayed the homestanding Panthers for the majority of the contest, outshooting them 17-6. They put seven shots on goal to LaGrange's three, outshooting them 6-0 in the first half and 11-6 in the second.

Stauber fired 10 shots over the course of the game, putting five on goal. Along with the assist, Jakes recorded three shots and put one on goal. Junior goalkeeper Sarah Craig made three saves on the evening, earning her second clean sheet of the year in the process.
