Box Score The Oglethorpe women's soccer team fell to 0-2 in SAA play this season with a 3-0 defeat against Sewanee in Tennessee Saturday evening. The Stormy Petrels fell behind early and couldn't tally a goal despite solid goalkeeping from senior Sarah Craig.
The homestanding Tigers picked up a goal in the game's 25th minute, cashing in on what had been a good stretch to open the game for the home side. In the second, the Sewanee shot advantage continued. They held a 9-1 edge over the final 45 minutes in the category. However, Craig continued to make saves, keeping her team in the game. She recorded five second-half stops, but the Tigers doubled their lead in the 68th minute and pushed it out further with a third marker in the 75th.
Craig finished the game with eight saves on 11 shots faced. Overall, Sewanee outshot Oglethorpe 17-3, including 11-1 on goal. The Tigers took two corner kicks to the Petrels' one.
