Box Score The Oglethorpe men's lacrosse team had a tough day Saturday, falling to the homestanding Berry Vikings 11-1 in Mount Berry, Georgia. The defeat dropped the Stormy Petrels to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in SAA play.
The Petrels fell behind Berry 5-0 after a quarter and 7-0 with 11:13 remaining in the second. Sophomore attackman Quade Bedgood scored with 1:15 left in the period off an assist from sophomore attackman Jazz Washington. It turned out to be the only goal of the game for the visitors, though. Berry outscored them 4-0 in the second half en route to the win.
Berry outshot Oglethorpe 47-14 and was successful on all 16 of their clear attempts. Junior goalie Addison Irwin tallied 24 saves in the loss.
The Petrels will be back in action next Saturday, when they head to Tennessee to take on Sewanee at 7 p.m. Eastern in a non-conference contest. After that, they'll host Hendrix Friday, March 26, at 7 p.m.
