Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After opening this season with two lopsided wins at home, the Oglethorpe women's soccer team went on the road this weekend and suffered a couple of close defeats. The Stormy Petrels suffered a 3-0 loss at Bob Jones Friday night before playing Huntingdon down to the wire Sunday evening in a 2-0 loss.
Haley Lowell made several big stops in both matches, including a few to keep it a one-goal difference in Sunday's game. She finished with 22 saves across both games, 14 coming Friday night.
Oglethorpe conceded a goal to Huntingdon in the 13th minute before the two teams played an even game for the next 75 minutes. The Hawks finally put the game away with a consolation goal in the 89th minute that made it 2-0.
Oglethorpe next returns home for a Sunday evening game against Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
