Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn.— The Oglethorpe men's basketball team traveled to Rhodes College on Sunday afternoon for their third Southern Athletic Association game of the season. The Stormy Petrels won with a final score of 87-72.
Lane Foster led the Petrels with 21 points. Dimetri Chambers also contributed 18 points.
The first half of the game was back and forth with five lead changes. Oglethorpe was up by four with a halftime score of 36-32. The Petrels dominated the second half to spread the gap and win the game by 15 points.
"Today was a good bounce back win," said Head Coach Philip Ponder. "I thought we played really well in the second half on both sides of the court. Winning the second game of a road trip is always tough, so this was a good win. We're looking forward to being back home next weekend."
Conference play for the Petrels will continue this Friday. Oglethorpe will face Sewanee on their home court. The game is set to start at 8 p.m.
