Women’s track & field postseason preview

ATLANTA – After underclassmen led Oglethorpe through a great season, the Stormy Petrels are ready for the Southern Athletic Association Championship.

Championship Information

  • The meet will be hosted by Centre in Danville, Kentucky, Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29.
  • Friday gets underway at 8:45 a.m. with the 10k final and concludes with the 3k steeplechase at 4 p.m. Saturday begins at 9 a.m. with the discus and 5k and concludes with the 4x400 meter relay at 3:50 p.m.
  • The awards ceremony is set for 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Season Review | Individual Highlights

  • Aubrey Guyden broke the Oglethorpe record for the 200 meters, recording a time of 26.67 at the Emory CrossPlex Showdown in January.
  • Three Petrels set new personal records.
  • Freshman Hailey Wright is tied for third in conference for high jump with a 1.52 meter mark.
  • Aubrey Guyden is ranked fourth in the SAA for the 100 meters with a best time of 12.65.
  • Cassidy Jenkins ranks fifth in conference for the 100 meters and the 200 meters.
  • Hannah Rhodes is ranked 13th in the SAA for the 400 meters with a time of 2:32. She is also ranked 18th in the 1500 meters.
  • Riley Michaud ranks 20th in the SAA for the 800 meters and the 1500 meters.
