BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels competed in both the Samford Bulldog Open and the Music City Invitational this weekend, setting a pair of new records and several other strong marks.
Women's Results
- Evan Thomas placed 12th in the 200m with an Oglethorpe record time of 25.85, also setting her personal record.
- Junior Hannah Rhodes had a great effort in the 800m with a time of 2:22.94.
- Riley Michaud placed eighth in the mile with a final time of 5:43.19.
- Freshman Gabriella Andino set a new personal record in the 60 Hurdles, placing 12th.
- Keri Edwards jumped 10.43 in the triple jump, placing eighth. Edwards also placed 17th in the long jump.
- Yvonne Minutello placed 10th in the shot put with a mark of 9.99m, and Blessia Carle placed 17th. They both set new personal records.
Men's Results
- Senior Ashton Deriso was among three to be invited to the Music City Invitational and placed 44th in the mile. Deriso set a new personal record as well as a new school record with a time of 4:10.53.
- Sophomore Jaylon Taylor, the team's newest addition, placed 10th in the high jump with a final mark of 1.89m.
- Freshman Tristan Arey placed 15th in the 60 hurdles. Arey also set a new personal record in the 400m, placing 21st.
- Antonio Fuentes placed 17th in the 800m.

The Stormy Petrels will close out the indoor season February 28 at the Southern Athletic Association Indoor Championships in Danville, Kentucky.
