DANVILLE, Ky. - The Oglethorpe women's track & field team placed fourth and hit multiple new personal records in the Southern Athletic Association Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday.
Championship Notes
- Keri Edwards had the highest finish, nabbing a runner-up in the triple jump with a final mark of 10.77m. She also placed seventh in the long jump, earning 10 points for the team. Both finishes were new personal bests.
- Oglethorpe's next highest finish came from Evan Thomas in the 200 meters and Amirah Ali in the triple jump, both taking third.
- Thomas ran the 200 in 25.78 and added a sixth-place finish in the 60m. Both were PR times.
- Ali earned six points for her third-place finish in the triple jump, hitting a 10.61m mark. She also hit a PR in the long jump.
- Aubrey Guyden earned five points for the team. She finished fourth in the 60m with a time of 7.86.
- Hailey Wright tied for fourth in high jump with a final mark of 1.57m and fourth in long jump with a 5.03m mark. She earned seven points.
- Kirsten Wright also earned seven points. She placed fifth in the 60m with a PR time of 7.92 and sixth in the 200m.
- Hannah Rhodes placed fourth in the mile with a PR time of 5:19, earning five points.
- Rhodes, H. Wright, K. Wright and Thomas combined for a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:12.
- Michaud, Baker, Thomas and Rhodes finished third in the distance medley relay to add six points.
- Altogether, the team earned 60 points.
Meet Notes
- Baker recorded a new PR in the 3000m.
- Gabriella Andino set a new PR in the 60m hurdles.
- Yvonne Minutello and Blessia Carle hit new PRs for shotput.
- The men's team placed third and took home four conference champion trophies.
