ATLANTA – After a season of ups and downs, Head Coach Philip Ponder and the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels are heading into the SAA tournament as the No. 3 seed.
Oglethorpe tied for fourth in the Southern Athletic Association preseason poll after receiving 27 points, the same as Birmingham Southern. The regular season ended earlier this week with a loss at Berry, but the Petrels remained above their preseason ranking.
Tournament Schedule
- Oglethorpe will host the quarterfinal game against No. 6 Millsaps on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. Two tightly contested games in the regular season, Oglethorpe topped Millsaps at home 62-61 before falling on the road 69-61 one week later.
- The winner will advance to the semifinal against the winner of second-seeded Birmingham Southern and seventh-seeded Rhodes.
- The highest remaining seed left after the quarterfinals will host the semifinals and championship on Saturday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 25.

- Jordan James averages 10.5 points and almost 4.0 rebounds. He is the team leader for blocks, with 17 this season.
- Malachi Dooley is the team leader for assists with 52 (2.3/game). He averages 10.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.2 steals.
- Dylan Pumpian is the team's leader for shooting threes, sinking 52 of them. He has recorded 8.7 points per game and 3.4 rebounds, along with 20 assists and 16 steals.
- Mason Kemp is the team's leader in steals with 33. He also averages 5.3 points and 2.6 rebounds.Â
- Jackson Kemp averages 6.5 points and 4.7 rebounds. He also made 49 assists and 17 steals. Â
- Mark Asare has 26 assists and 12 steals.
