BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels spent the day at the Jaguar Invitational, setting several new personal records.
Women's Highlights
- Hannah Rhodes placed eighth in the mile with a career-high time of 5:21.42.
- Freshmen Amirah Ali and Keri Edwards saw success in the triple jump. Ali placed sixth with a final mark of 10.81m, and Edwards placed seventh with a mark of 10.69m, both setting personal records.
- Edwards also placed 18th in the long jump with a career-high mark of 4.76m.
- Hailey Wright finished 13th in the high jump.
- Aubrey Guyden placed 19th in the 60m.
Men's Highlights
- Sophomore Ugohnofure Awarieta placed 17th and set a personal record in the mile with a time of 4:40.86.
- Demetrius Moore placed 20th in the 3000m.
- Oglethorpe also sent a crew to the Bob Pollock Invitational, where Ashton Deriso, Beck James and Zachary Benner had success.
- Deriso took 11th in the 800m with a time of 1:53.Â
- All three finished in the top 30 in the 3k, with Deriso leading the way in 25th in 8:41.Â
