DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels spent the weekend at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic, setting several personal bests.

Men's Results

• Zachary Benner won the 5,000m with a time of 14:46.77, setting a new school record and personal best.
• Ashton Deriso, an indoor NCAA all-American in the 800 meters, broke the 800m outdoor school record and set a new personal best with 1:53.88, placing 14th. Deriso also placed 19th in the 1500m.
• Senior Anthony Arredondo placed fourth in the 10,000m with a time of 35:00.02.
• Jaylon Taylor took fifth place and set a new personal best in the high jump with a final mark of 1.95m. Sophomore Logan Turner took 13th place.
• Jordan McQueen took 13th place in the long jump with a mark of 6.49m.

Women's Results

• Junior Elliott Baker placed second and set a new personal best in the 10,000m with a time of 43:45.40.
• The 4x100 relay team, consisting of Keri Edwards, Malia Melton, Evan Thomas and Aubrey Guyden, placed sixth with a time of 48.80.
• The Petrels saw a strong performance in the triple jump. Amirah Ali placed fourth with a mark of 11.31, Keri Edwards placed sixth with a mark of 11.03, and Malia Melton placed seventh with a final mark of 11.02. Both Ali and Edwards set personal bests.
• Hailey Wright placed ninth in both the long jump and the high jump. Wright finished the high jump with a final mark of 1.47 and the long jump with a mark of 5.21.
• Malia Melton finished 12th in the long jump.
• Freshman Yvonne Minutello placed ninth in the shot put with a mark of 10.47m.
• Evan Thomas placed 15th in the 400m with a time of 59.19.

The Stormy Petrels will travel to Rome, Georgia, to compete in the Berry Field Day Invitational next Thursday through Saturday.
