ATLANTA—The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels opened outdoor season with great results at the Emory Spring Break Classic this weekend.

Men's Results

• Ugohnofure Awarieta, Beck James, Zachary Benner and Anthony Arredondo had the biggest highlight by winning the 4x800 relay with a time of 7:59.75, setting a new school record.
• Arredondo also took third in the 5k, recording a time of 15:48.46.
• Sophomore Jordan McQueen placed eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.68m.
• Jaylon Taylor placed 11th in high jump, and Logan Turner placed 19th in his collegiate debut.

Women's Results

• The 4x800 relay team, consisting of Riley Michaud, Elliott Baker, Allyssa Hearn and Hannah Rhodes, took seventh place and set a new school record with a final time of 10:29.46. This was Hearn's collegiate debut.
• Hailey Wright, Kirsten Wright, Keri Edwards and Evan Thomas took runner-up in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:49.90.
• Senior Riley Michaud placed sixth in the 3k steeplechase, finishing at 12:40.84.
• Hannah Rhodes placed eighth in the 5k with a time of 18:52.94.
• Hailey Wright took 11th place in the high jump with a mark of 1.50.
• Keri Edwards placed 12th in the triple jump, setting a new personal best.
